Welcome to another Witchy Activity Wednesday! Every week, we post a new witchy activity for you to try out. This can be anything from writing prompts and spells, to rituals and meditations. Our goal is to provide you with some fun and easy ways to stay connected to your spirituality, and to help you on your witchy journey.
This weeks activity is about magickal circles. What is a magickal circle? It is a sacred space where magick and ritual can be performed. A magickal circle creates an energetic barrier between you and the rest of the world, allowing spiritual energy to flow freely without interference.
Circle Casting in 3 Easy Steps:
1. Prepare the space: Before you begin, make sure that all clutter and distractions are removed from the area where your circle will be casted. If possible it’s best to do this outdoors, but you can also do it indoors if necessary. Once the area is clear, use a wand or athame to trace out an imaginary circle.
2. Invoke the elements or aids (guardians, ancestors, etc) that will be helping you during your ritual: This is a way of asking the universe to have their energetic presence in the circle. Depending on the type of magick you’re doing, different energies may be called upon.
3. Set your intention and close the circle: Now it’s time to focus on what it is you are going to be doing during your ritual. Once you’ve done that, it’s time to close the circle. This can be done by thanking the energies and elements that were present, and then using a wand or athame to trace out the imaginary line of the circle in reverse.
And there you have it! You’ve just created a magickal circle. Now you know how to cast a circle for a ritual or spell that you intended to do. Here is a simple protection circle spell that can be used anywhere at anytime. I use this as an imaginary bubble and shield that surrounds me at all times.
Circle Cast for Protection
Guardians of present and past,
I ask for your protection from all that comes to harm me.
Set your shield around me strong,
Let no negative energy enter for long.
Guide my spirit and soul to safety,
Protect me from what is seen and unseen.
I honor you by this enchantment,
Thank you for the protection I have been lent.
